This Privacy Policy explains how RSSaurus ("we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the RSSaurus website and service (the "Service"). RSSaurus is operated by Justin Burdett (sole proprietorship).

Information we collect

• Account information: email address and password (stored in hashed form).
• Feeds and reading data: feed URLs you add, feed items we fetch, extracted content, and saved items.
• Usage and log data: basic server logs may include IP address, user agent, timestamps, and requested URLs.
• Payment information: payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store your full card details.

How we use information

• To provide and operate the Service (fetch feeds, show items, save articles, sync read status).
• To authenticate you and secure accounts.
• To process subscriptions and manage your trial/subscription status.
• To debug issues, prevent abuse, and keep the Service reliable.

Cookies

RSSaurus uses essential cookies (for example, session cookies) to keep you signed in and to operate the Service. We do not currently use advertising cookies.

Sharing and third parties

We do not sell your personal information.

• Stripe: used to process payments and manage subscriptions.
• Hosting: the Service is hosted on Fly.io (and related infrastructure). Data may be stored and processed on their systems to provide the Service.

Feed content

The Service fetches content from the feed URLs you provide and may store copies of feed item content and extracted article text so it can be displayed quickly and in a reader-friendly format. This is intended for your private reading use.

Data retention

We generally keep your account, feeds, and saved items for as long as your account is active.

If your trial ends or your subscription expires and your account remains inactive, we may delete your account and associated data after 90 days.

We may retain certain information (for example, logs or billing records) as needed for security, debugging, compliance, and legitimate business purposes.

Your choices

• You can update your account information in the Service.
• You can request account deletion and/or an export of your data by emailing support@rssaurus.com.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and may provide additional notice in the Service.
